OooOOOOoohh...cover art. Coolness.
Congratulations!
I have a question, it's been lurking in my mind for some time, now. How does an author go about getting his book published?

Great question...I guess it all depends upon what sort of distribution you would like. The preferred method of many is to first find an agent (AFTER finishing your manuscript). There are a number of ways to go about doing this. I would HIGHLY recommend that you start with www.agentquery.com. They have scores of great advice to aspiring authors.

Agentquery.com is great! They have "Public Service Announcements" that help put in perspective the arduous task of finding (and courting) an agent. They use just the right amount of sarcasm to make a point!

Heheheh...how did you go about the process, though? Did you know someone?

Nope. I went agentquery all the way. They even go so far as to tell you how to format and mail your query letter and manuscript! Now THAT's the kind of help I need! Someone to take me by the hand and show me the way step-by-step!

Ummmmmm.....a Star Wars fanatic, perhaps? (HAHA! Mr. Author ended with a preposition!)
"Grroowwarraaarrrraaagh!"
Waaah, now you made me want to play KOTOR!!

Ummm...sorry...I MEANT to write, "Just to whom do you think you are talking?"...
Either that or, "Jus' who you be talkin' at?"
I always get those two confused...
KOTOR...GREAT game! One was better than Two, though. But both were good.

Barely related: One of the things I love about The Virginian is his come-and-go accent. "Suh." YOU! YOU! YOU TOO?!?!? *groan* My brother was rubbing it in my face that he has KOTOR 1 & 2 (he liked 2 better, actually) and I don't. He's the only one in our family who has an xBox and now he lives far away. So I never had the chance to finish KOTOR 1. I miss him.

I think you can buy it for PC for ten bucks! Well worth the investment to finish out the story line, I say.

Not with my sometimes-works-sometimes-doesn't computer. It occasionally takes up to 6 tries to turn it on.
Currently, I am grinning and giddily surfing a long and perfect wave of happiness and anticipation. ;D

In....*checks calendar*...1, 2, 3....17 days I'm going to fly up to see my brother.
As for the whole wave thing, I was trying to come up with something California/surfer-ish..... .....even though I don't surf. ;D

I thought you were a horsey-kind-of-gal...
Maybe it should be, "Currently, I am grinning and giddily RIDING a long and perfect TRAIL of happiness and anticipation."
Ummm...maybe yours was better after all...

HaHA!! I have you watching your prepositions, now, eh? Heeheeheehee....
Portlandia, Oregano. To the land where people wear shorts, with mid-calf black socks and Birkenstock sandals. To the land where it's damp and raining and soggy and grey for 9 months out of the year. To the land where it's blazing hot during the summer and so dry people have to paint their grass green. To the land filled with coffee shops and bookstores. And, in my case, family and some really good friends.

Oregano? Is it also the land of rich sauces? Of a variety of dishes where the only thing that changes is the shape of noodle in the recipe? Of bib overalls to prevent the splattering of your meal on your white arrow shirt?
...sounds delicious!...
